The LEED rating system awards points towards the certification of a building through project checklist credits. Frost Products can contribute in the following credit categories: Recycled content (MR credit 4.1 and 4.2), Regional Materials (MR credit 5.1 and 5.2) and low emitting materials (EQ credit 4.2). Listed below are the relevant Frost Product statements for these credit categories.

Credits MR 4.1 & MR 4.2: Recycled Content MR 4.1 Requirement: Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post-industrial content constitutes at least 7.5% of the total value of the materials in the project.

MR 4.2 Requirement: Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post-industrial content constitutes at least 15% of the total value of the materials in the project.

Credits MR 5.1 & MR 5.2: Regional materials MR 5.1 Requirement: Use a minimum of 10% of building materials or products for which at least 80% of the mass is extracted, processed and manufactured within 800 km (500 miles) of the project site (or 2,400 km if shipped by rail or water).

MR 5.2 Requirement: Use a minimum of 20% of building materials or products for which at least 80% of the mass is extracted, processed and manufactured within 800 km (500 miles) of the project site (or 2,400 km if shipped by rail or water).

Credit EQ 4.2 Low Emitting Materials EQ 4.2 Requirement: VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions from paints must not exceed the VOC and chemical component limits of Green Seal’s Standard GS-11, January 1997 requirements. The VOC content of anti-corrosive coatings used must be less than the current VOC content limits of Green Seal Standard GS-03 May 1993 requirements.

MR 4.2 Requirement: Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post-industrial content constitutes at least 15% of the total value of the materials in the project.
